I found this in my photo file, made a while ago, but never posted because at the time, I decided I just didn't like it... looking again, I think I like it a little more now  😉 Using Watercolour paper and some Distress Oxides, I applied lines of lots of blue inks and brushed them out with water, leaving me with this semi stripey background. I just stamped the dandelions in deeper blue, for a shadow effect, then stamped and embossed the white  dandelions over it - quite simple.

This is for  Day of the Month Card Club, Dandelion Day.

For my birthday, a very dear friend sent me a wonderful Lavinia card, which I loved. This is a shamelessly 'cased' copy - though it isn't an exact copy. I didn't have all the stamps she used, and I think she used a mixture of Distress and Distress Oxide inks, whereas I used all Distress Oxides. It isn't as dramatic as the one I received, but I'm quite pleased with it 😊

Thank you for calling in today...

I'll be back soon

Your 'case' card is very nice but the dandelion one blew me away. I just love the play on 'blue' you have used. The background is lovely and quite subtle, great idea, might have to try that out, but I think it is the stamped twice dandelions that do it for me. The effect of the darker stamping and then the white embossing is beautiful.
Thanks for a lovely couple of cards Cath.

Isn't funny how time can change our perspectives on our art? It happens to me all the time. I think these cards are great. The dandelion one is very photogenic. Sometimes art photographs well and sometimes it doesn't, and that can change (for me at least) how I feel about it. Happy new week cath. Hugs-Erika

I adore the stripes you created in that card, Cath. It is genuinely beautiful and SO unique. I'm glad you shared it.

The other card is lovely, too. It feels rich and warm, with a bit of whimsy and magic.

Such beautiful cards Cath, white embossing always does it for me, and although I'm not usually a lover of fairies Lavinia stamps are always gorgeous aren't they. Have a lovely crafty week, Sue x

Well, I think your card has something dramatic! - Because of the dark shadows you got by double stamping!! ....whatever it may be, these dandelions are beautiful!
Thank you so much for playing with us at DotMCC!
