Over at Crafty Cardmakers, Joy has set us a challenge this fortnight which is the following recipe...
  • 1. Use stickers or punches
  • 2. Use the colour orange or yellow
  • 3. Include and animal or fish
The second week (w/c 2 August) is Spotlight challenge week and the Spotlight is to use a punch.  So here’s mine…

First, the white background was sponged with Adirondack Sunshine Yellow ink, then, using a punchie as a mask (with non permanent adhesive) to keep the sun yellow, I sponged Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Cabin Door, Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar distress inks , with a little Adirondack Mountain Rose, onto the background.

The elephants and tree (one stamp from I Brake For Stamps) were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, then clear embossed. Top corners were punched with a corner punch, purely for a little bit of interest, though I’m not sure it worked, lol and this was matted onto black card.

The outer layer (also matted onto black) is just a square of white card, the outside of which is stamped with a Rollagraph (taken off the wheel and used as a stamp) with Versafine and clear Embossing powder. I masked the corners to avoid overlapping.  Final card is Bazzill orange.

Don’t forget to check out the scrummy artwork by the rest of the Design Team at Crafty Cardmakers.

This card also fits the Gingersnap Challenge, Red, Yellow and Orange – in a slightly different way, but it fits.
