Another great challenge at Art Journal Journey, chosen by Chris - Art for Art’s Sake. So I got out my acrylic paints and brushes, added lots of white to my chosen colours, and painted… or is that daubed?
Then I stamped some lines here and there … and finally, the word ‘play’ which I embossed and outlined in black, adding the word ‘Just’ by hand. (But you’d never have guessed that, would you – NOT!)
That’s Crafty’s Challenge is Close to Nature, so I’d like to enter the above into that…
… and the challenge at Allsorts is Baby Animals, so I played around a bit with animals…
I don’t think I have any real baby animal stamps, so I improvised a little… is a goose an animal??? Not sure it is but here are my geese…
For the next one I used smaller stamps – they COULD be babies!
I bought this stamp years ago, when staying with my best friend in France (who is actually Swiss) who is a stamper. I fell in love with it for some strange reason, but of course I’ve never used it. I genuinely thought it was a baby giraffe in that hammock until I stamped it, lol, so no baby animal here but I still like it. I’ve left it blank so that I can stamp a Boy or Girl on it when I use it.
Stamping Sensations have an ‘In my garden’ challenge, so this is my entry…
And this is a stamp gone wrong… I had coloured some pretty flowers with Prismas and decided to add this greeting… It’s the first time I used the stamp, so I hope it isn’t the acrylic that’s really poor quality. I did notice that the Versafine pooled up a bit on one of my trusty Penny Black stamps, so maybe it’s just the heat. I hope so!
Pretty bad, huh?
I’d like to enter the Anything Goes challenges at
and
Hope you’re all enjoying the lovely sunshine. I am and I’m taking advantage of it while it’s here! Everything else will still be here when the sun is gone
Have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for looking
See you soon

15 very kind comments from lovely people:
Your journal page made me so happy. I loved the flowers and the bits of stamping you did to liven the background. It is a beautiful piece and I'm thrilled you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey.
To answer your question, a goose is an animal, and an avian. I like all your cards and know why I don't make them. Yours are SO clever. BTW, I can't see what is wrong with your last card. But then, I'm not a stamper, either (grin).
Wow I love the page with the flowers! This looks so artsy and the colours and lovely background just makes one happy and especially it makes us happy at Art Journey! Thanks a lot for joining us again! We love to have you with us at the Art Journal Journey group!
And I love your improvised baby geese card! How clever and what a wonderful scene you created!
The "choose happy" card reminds me of my Rhodesian Ridgebacks when we walk to late in the morning and it is already much heat - lol!
The baby card is just so lovely with those critters!!!
And clever to wait with the gender... super idea!
The sparkle on your birthday card is wonderful - and I also like this last one very much! Beautiful flowers. I guess this new stamp just has to be used some times more to get the best impressions of it. At least I made the same experience with some of my clearstamp sentiments in the past using it at the first time.
If you don't like it now as it is -- stamp it once more and cut it out and glue the sentiment as a 3D on. Just in case you need perfection !Lol!
Thank you so very much for joining us at AJJ ♥♥♥
I wish you a happy weekend dear Cath!
Wonderful art!!!!
You never cease to amaze me!
Hugs, Susi
What a collection today Cath, from soft and muted gardens to ducks on the lake and fun and funky doggies, each and every one of them a delight.
I think our ducks would give anything for that lake right now, they do have a pond as well as two paddling pools and spend an awful lot of time in them chatting to one another - yes really, the Aylesburys Jemima and Puddleduck (what can I say) really do chat to one another along with all the neck actions, really funny to watch. The Mallards on the other hand are far more conservative - they were rescued as abandoned chicks two years ago. And guess what, we have just taken in another Mallard hen with four chicks - the RSPB just turn up with them ank know we won't say no.
OK back to your creativity and Allsorts entry, many thanks for joining in and well done on getting so much done in this extreme heat, afraid I've not been as productive this week.

Dahhhhhhhhhhhhh, blame the heat, I saw water and birds and though Ducks, looking again they are of course Geese and no we don't have any of them. But can say they are animals, Anatidae sepcis to be exact.

Fantastic creations, all of them! Thank you for entering our challenge at Allsorts this week!
I love your PLAY page - beautiful colours and absolutely gorgeous flowers! Perfect Art For Art Sake page! Your cards all look great to me! The smiley dog and puppies really made me smile too! Thank you so much for your support dear Cath!Hugs,Chrisx
Love the painty journal page, colours and flowers are gorgeous.
Great cards and clever inspirations with your baby geese and puppies. Great background on the floral card, shame about the greetings stamp, but maybe it's the heat making the acrylic softer than usual? but it's not noticeable until you pointed it out.
Enjoy your weekend and I agree - make the most of the sunshine.

These are all such beautiful creations! All so different but all great. Love your entry for the Stamping Sensations in my garden theme, thanks for joining. Marlies
A beautiful collection of stunning cards as always, Cath! Needless to say I absolutely love the geese. I also love your floral creation! Thanks for entering it for the 'In our Garden' theme at Stamping Sensations this month, and Good Luck!
PS I have been having inky issues in the heat too. Hope it isn't the stamp. My white gel pen has come in handy to 'edit'
Your AJJ page is beautifully artsy Cath - I love the colours and marks and everything!
Your cards are all gorgeous - love all of your stamps - lucky recipients!
I haven't done any stamping in the really hot weather. Some mew stamps can pool up with ink if they have a coating? on but you probably know that anyway - maybe some need working in more than others.
In the past I have found some clear stamps in hot weather seem stickier and don't stamp properly.
Humidity affects my cards and sometimes the doubleside tape wants to lift off.
