Birds, Botanicals and Butterflies
13 very kind comments from lovely people at Thursday, August 27, 2020Hello, Strangers! I do hope you are well and wonderfully surviving in the Covid crisis. Life has definitely changed for most of us - and drastically for some. But change isn't always all bad.
I know, I've been a BAD blogger... sorry. I've had/still have keyboard issues, but that's not why I haven't blogged - I've been busy with one thing and another, including making a lot of mess all over my house. I also went 'off' cards for a while, so when I was able have been making other things, which I've really enjoyed 😁 But, please accept my apologies for not visiting you over the last few weeks. This laptop is the one I use in the evenings, but because I've had to relocate my external keyboard (repair that needs 'fixing' when my son escapes quarantine, following his return from Spain) and this one hasn't been working, it's been difficult. I tend to use the other one for streaming while I'm in my craft room, where I spend most of my day, even if I'm not crafting!
But I'm here now because my main laptop keyboard decided to work and I know I need to clear some of the artwork in my folder, so I just thought I'd check out the challenges. In the meantime, I've been moved over to the new Blogger - yuk! That shows how long it is since I was here 😟
Firstly, a butterfly from Aall and Create, on a smooshed background... I do like this stamp.

As so often happens after a Craft Room tidy/reorganisation, I ended up with a pile of stamps I hadn’t used for years and wanted to use again…notably, this little butterfly girl, from Time to Stamp, which once was a favourite of mine. I noticed Rubber Dance now sell the same image(s – there are a few different ones on the same theme), which intrigues me, especially because they credit Time to Stamp…
I masked the butterfly girl and made two quite different cards – this one was a simple one with a plain background, edged with a stamp made from an old rollagraph wheel.
The next one was a bit more complex because I clear embossed some images over the mask, then added inks, a bit more colour and some words.
I’d like to link that to
Make My Mondays - Things with Wings
I was still playing with Black and White for a day or so and made another scrapling…
…and this one from an Art Journey stamp, with an Isa stamp in the background. Not sure if they were pressed by Katzelcraft but I know Isabelle designed the plate. I used a Hero Arts alphabet set for the letters.
Here’s another Winged Creature…or three on an Oxide Background…
…a simple ‘Happy Day’ card on another Oxide background…
…followed by another…
…and today’s journalling spread, again, made with Oxides, various stamp and pens.
I’m linking to the following challenges:-

Christmas Eve Eve… and wasn’t it pretty?
4 very kind comments from lovely people at Thursday, December 24, 2009This was 11pm last night when we’d had a couple of inches of snow, with more to follow.
Sadly, by this morning it was starting to thaw, so we won’t have a REAL white Christmas after all. The side roads and pavements are treacherous, though. For some reason they don’t seem to be gritting the roads as much as they usually do – NOT a good idea when we have a deep freeze like this one!
This is what awaits me when I open the back door – all clucking away, saying they’re desperate for food! One day that garage window sill is going to drop off but you can’t tell some men, can you?
