I’ve been wondering if colour can be considered a creature comfort?  What do you think?  Nothing cheers the soul more than a colour explosion – it brightens an otherwise dull day and just makes me smile! It certainly did this week, after a few days of limiting myself to black and white.

So, I decided it IS in fact, a creature comfort because it’s so comforting, lol but we CAN do without it Winking smile

So here’s my spread for Art Journal Journey, whose theme for October is…. Creature Comforts.

COLOUR

Here’s each page in turn, so you can see more clearly.

COLOUR 1

COLOUR 2

CAS Mixup have a Metallic challenge at the moment, so I thought I’d give it a go, using one of my die cuts and some gold leaf. I can’t find my multicoloured leaf OR my copper leaf (I bet I’ve thrown it out in one of my recent clearouts Sad smile ) so I improvised with some Pearlex copper ink, which I dabbed over bits of the gold and spattered over the card, with some Delicata gold. It doesn’t look very CAS but ‘white space’ doesn’t have to be white – right?

METALLIC FOLIAGE

This next card started life as CAS, but soon developed into a more colourful specimen… I noticed Neet had been using Promarkers and decided I’d get mine out – I just forget I have them and enjoy playing with Prisma pencils or watercolour, so I coloured the leaves with those – and yes, they bled out a little, despite the clear embossing! I quite like the result, though.

ONE OF GODS WAYS LEAVES

I also made another simple leafy card, using embossing resist – I noticed that there were still some Autumn challenges around, so I thought I’d enter those.

Stamping Sensations – Colours of Autumn

Penny Black and More – Autumn Splendour

Moo Mania and More – Autumn

BLESSING FOLIAGE

The theme on Shopping our Stash is Pink is the New Orange, so here’s a simple offering for that, made with Oxides and Paperartsy stamps.

PINK GRASSES 1

I think that’s enough for now… I have more to share, but will be back tomorrow or the day after with those.

Thanks for looking

Back soon…

Cath

Beautiful journal pages and cards, Cath! I think color does make our world better! White space doesn't have to be white, and your dark background really lets the metallic leaves and splatters show beautifully! Very classy! Love the other cards too. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

Wonderful post Cath, full of colour and goodness! Your journal pages are so beautiful. A rainbow is the ultimate in colour and just makes a person feel good. Right??!! :)

Lovely mix of beautiful autumn cards. Great colours and wonderful blending of colours. Your metallic card is gorgeous. White space doesn't have to be white, just open and this has lots of open space with touches of elegance with the perfect pearls. Wonderful design with the gorgeous leaf sprig. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I love all these beautiful Autumnal cards, and great journal pages too, and also that pink and orange is so bright and pretty. The pearlex copper ink has coloured those leaves so well, and they stand out wonderfully against the black, and love the spattering, a super card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge Cath. x

Although I’m still not well, I apologize for taking so long to visit, but I am just now making it out of bed.

Your cards are fabulous and really bring on the spirit of autumn, but your journal page with all that vivid color was worth me getting out of bed for. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, Cath.
