My mum has a milestone birthday this month – she’ll be 80 - so I made this card for her… I really hope my NZ family doesn’t try to put 80 candles on a cake Winking smile

NEW CATH 2

A couple of my friends have birthdays this month and next, so I have a few cards to make. Here’s one…

HOW OLD CANDLES 1

I’ll link this to the Feminine Anything Goes challenge on the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge blog,  an ATG challenge at Creatalicious, with the option of using Something New and a Something New Challenge on SSS Wednesdays… the image stamps above are both new. The challenge at SSS Mondays is Let’s Party!

One more simple Thank you card, using Smooshed Oxides.

THANKS RESIST 1

Mix it Up Challenges  are asking for the Sentiment to be the main focus, so I’ll link to that.

My ‘Word for the Year’ is ‘Pray’, so over the year, you may see some journal pages with this theme, as I explore it a little more. My words for last year were ‘Brave’ and ‘Kind’. I had no idea just how brave I would need in order to be kind - and think kindly - until the past year… some lessons are easier to learn than others.

So my first shared journal page is this one, to remind me that prayer is a dialogue – not a one way conversation.

PRAYER 2WAY

I just realised that because I stencilled squares and circles, I can enter this into this month’s Art Journal Journey, where the theme is Geometric shapes Smile

Thank you so much for popping by… I LOVE reading your comments and appreciate each one.

Back soon

Funny how brave and kindness never went together in my mind but when I think about them you are right. Sometimes it takes bravery to be kind. Love your birthday cards and other art. I love how you put all those candles on the card. And the cake. That says more than some of those sarcastic saying you see. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika

Fabulous cards Cath and I hope your mum has a lovely Birthday on her special day. I think the cake would have to be very large to hold that number of candles.
Its a wonderful journal page as well and I like your choice of words for the year, we should all take time to listen and reflect.

All three of your cards are fabulous. I laughed at the one with all the candles on it. I hope your mother has a lovely birthday. That is quite a milestone.

I love your beautiful journal page. It's a beautiful piece, perfect for Alison's theme, and a great lesson to be learned, too. Thank you for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, dear Cath.

Such a fun card for your mum with all those candles ...lol 😉. All you makes are fabulous and you create so much detail, the way you shaded and coloured the candles is amazing! Wishing you a happy weekend! J 😊 x

Lovely cards as always Cath, your colouring is always spot on. Have to say though that your journal page is just WOW. I love the colours you have chosen to use, the shapes that make up the background and the script for the word "praying". But most of all I like the image and what it says to the viewer. Well thought out - a great page.

Your mum is going to love the card, it is sooo fun. Did you watercolor or alcohol markers ? coloring is great. I so wish I still had the motivation to make cards but right now nothing.

big hugs from France,

Your birthday card is just adorable! What a cute image of that huge cake with all the candles - so big it needs three people to hold it up! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday.
