Just popping in to join Time Out's Current challenge
C S Lewis is one of my favourite authors anyway, but I love this and think it's a good one to focus on for the new year!
2020 sounds so futuristic, lol, but it's almost here 😵😉
So I made this...
I had so much fun using my favourite colours (Oxides), white embossed text and stitched circle with lots of water. Then I mounted it onto a deep teal card - but it looked so wrong (see below). It just didn't bring out the gorgeous colour, so I demounted it and used this lovely lilac shade instead. Just goes to show how important a background is!
I'm much happier with it now 😁

I intended making a special New Year card, but life intervened...so all that remains is to wish you all a
VERY
Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year!
See you again in
2020
😁
Thanks for calling in

Love the beautiful background you created on this card. The colors are dreamy and look so nice together. Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out.
I think the swap to the darker backdrop gives a more dramatic feel to your card Cath, which is a delight, many thanks for sharing and joining us at Allsorts challenge.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year.

I think both look fab and the mix of colours is gorgeous. Love the design you used with the stitched circle. Happy New Year and thanks for joining Time Out
The background looks wonderful. All of your art is so lovely and inspirational. Wishing you the very best for 2020
This is gorgeous Cath, such a beautiful background and it looks perfect mounted on the purple. Have a very happy and creative 2020, Sue xx
Such a dreamy Oxide background - this is an utterly charming card to see in the New Year with. So very pretty, and inspired by those wonderful C.S. Lewis words - what could be better?! I'm still in Christmas hibernation (don't come out fully until after 12th Night on 6th January!), but am trying to do a bit of catching up with people even so. Happy New Year!

Gosh, you are so right. The change of background made all the difference. The teal one looks too heavy for that delicate Oxide background. What a delightful card to open up the new year with.
Sorry not been in touch lately, will remedy that soon. Here's wishing you all the very best for 2020 and the prayer that it may bring better health for us both - and others.
Hugs, Neet xx
Such beautiful colours that give your work with their softness such a serene and beautiful feeling! You were right to use another background; the lilac let it pops so good! Thank you for joining us at TIME OUT!
I think both look great. The first makes the card more dreamy for me.
Thanks for joining in with my anything goes challenge at Allsorts.

Fabulous card Cath love the beautiful background and white embossing-definitely looks better on the lilac
Best wishes for the New Year

Maybe it's because Daughter's wedding colors are deep teal and mustard yellow that I'm seeing teal everywhere, but I rather like the card with that background. Both are gorgeous. You are so correct, the background is important. But there's apparently more than one right answer lol. xoxo
Loving the colours Cath and once again it's amazing what a background colour can do! Hugs, Chrisx
