Sunday 25 November 2018

I’m catching up again…life has a habit of getting in the way of daily blogging. Or maybe I’m just not very good at blogging every single day. Only five days left and I’ll be back to my intermittent, spasmodic posts Winking smile

I journalled my thankfulness for yesterday this evening – after making my day 25! Yesterday, I didn’t go into my craft room once – now that really IS a record these days, lol. BUT I did spend a number of hours colouring and cutting out images I’d stamped previously. I had a huge pile of them waiting, so thought I’d clear them all – and I actually managed it! But when I did venture into my favourite room, I found some more in there, so I have yet another pile of images here, waiting – albeit a much smaller pile – and my box of Promarkers is still here!  Unfortunately, I have a busier week coming up, so they may take me longer to clear.

This was what I did yesterday, for AEDM…a very colourful and productive day!

AEDM24

I’m looking forward to just being able to glue them on!

Thankfulness Day 24 was for a new day…

I don’t know about you, but there are days I’m glad come to an end, for one reason or another. Someone once said God was very kind to give us night time, because it’s as if he pulls the curtains on the day and when we wake up, it’s a brand new day and a chance to start again. I like that thought Smile

It’s a very simple page – a Kraft page, painted with white acrylic, stamped, embossed, stencilled around the edges with Espresso Oxide, then a little bit of journalling around the edges.Every day is a new day!

NG24 NEW DAY

I’d also like to enter Art Journalling Journey’s Old and New Challenge.

Today, day 25, I’m thankful for music. I love music of many genres and am usually singing around the house, even when it’s very quiet. Mum played piano and although I only learned to play the recorder at school, that meant I learned to read music, which helped a lot in later years. My two brothers and I all played guitar and I spent many an evening with one of them, playing and singing – as I often did with my oldest friend, who I’ve known since I was sixteen and am very close to. She also joined my brother and me many a time.

My church doesn’t have a choir, but at Christmas, we do have a small one for Carols by Candlelight, and practices begin this week. I’m so looking forward to that – we laugh as much as we sing, and have so much fun.

This week’s challenge at Allsorts is Inspired by a Song, so I used some of my newly (wildly) coloured birdies to make this card.

NG25 MUSIC SONG

I’ll link this to Colour Crazy Challenge – Anything Goes

This one started out as a CAS card but ended up being not so CAS because I cut it down… It’s a while since I’ve used these Paperartsy Christmas stamps.

CHRISTMAS JOY

I may not make tomorrow – but I’ll try to do something quick and if not, catch up on Tuesday.

Thanks so much for calling in…

Back soon

I love the idea of stamping and coloring images to have on hand. It's probably a good thing for me to do when I am not feeling very creative. Love the cards and also I especially love the fun journal page. That's how I feel sometimes when everyone is trying to talk at the same time. :) Thanks so much for joining us at AJJ. Have fun singing with the holiday choir and happy new week. Hugs-Erika

I think we all need a catch-up day, Cath. I blog every day and I need to step back on occasion and do the same. I think coloring those images were a perfect opportunity to play catch-up.

Of course, then you gave us this absolutely perfect new day, the cute image perfectly colored, and you even linked it to Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

Then your birds singing are wonderful. I have to admit, you know how to color AND shade, too. They are joyful, indeed. But possibly my favorite are the trees. They made me so happy, and I love this card a LOT.

What a lot of lovely 'colourfulness' you are sharing with us today. Apart from the beautiful cards (glad sheepsie is out again) I just adored the pile of cutting out you had done. A lovely way of resting and reflecting on the day - and I so like the "curtains" idea.
Thanks so much for sharing all of this post.
Hugs, Neet xx

I like that thought about night time and that it is a gift for us!
Wow you were super busy to colour all those super images! WOW!
And your lovely page ( THANK you very much for yet another fantastic entry for AJJ) emphasizes that sent by God "new day" gift so beautifully! The "music" card is precious and the christmas card is so beautiful as well!

Happy start of the new week!
Blessings dear Cath!

Wow, what fabulous colouring, the birds especially. Love all the cards. I sat and coloured some of my images last night as I couldn’t settle to anything else. The others are now coming on a workshop with me, to do in the evening. I am absolutely hopeless with pro markers, I use watercolour pens.

Awesome art and wonderful fun images. It is a great idea to have a few pre coloured images to use. I loved the group of birds singing carols.
It was a lovely post to read and I can understand that music is something we should be thankful for.
